Monterey 140 Satellite Receiver
Description
The latest addition to Chaparral's successful Monterey line,
the Monterey 140, is designed to be easy to install, use, and
update. Dealers can install the Monterey 140 in less than 15
minutes and can update a customer's database in a matter of
seconds with the use of Chaparral's exclusive Memory Card. The
Monterey 130 includes a multitude of features easily accessed
through a sequence of eight basic menus and a remote control
engineered for ease of use.
The Monterey 140's Infinite Threshold Contol(ITC)TM, graphic equalizer, and digital
audio capabilities provide users with video and audio quality
unsurpassed in other receivers.

Features
- Graphic Equalizer & Digital Audio Signal Processing
(DSP)
- The Montery 140 features a fully-functinal
graphic equalizer displayed both on the fornt
panel and within the menu structure. Also
featured are adjustments for room size, room
type, and reverb. Combined, these provide users
with digital audio capabilities usually reserved
for high fidelity compnents.
- 1500 Favorite Channels
- The Monterey 140 can be programmed with over
1,500 favorite channels. Favorite channels can be
grouped into any variety of categories including
Movies, Sport, News, Music, Educational, and
Family Favorites.
- ITC
- For satellite systems on the edge of the
broadcasting footprint, Chaparral's Infinite
Threshold Control (ITC) provides extended signal
enhancement for optimizing weak and distorted
signals. In addition to 16 preset positions, the
threshold control feature allowd the user to
individualy change four parameters affecting
video and audio quality.
- Memory Card
- Designed to facilitate the process of updating
the receivers's internal database, the Memory
Card eliminates the need for replacing database
EPROMs. It also allows the user to backup the
receiver's database once it has been programmed
with favorite channel information and other
personalized data. Initial installation is made
fast and simpole by downloading the programming
information from the Memory Card into the
Monterey 140's internal database.
- Insta-Track
- Chaparral's patented Insta-Track feature makes
installing the Monterey 140 a simple process.
Once you have set the East and West limits and
located three referenc satellites, Insta-Track
automatically calulates the location of the
remaining satellites and their corresponding
channels. All satellite and channel information
is then stored in the receiver's database.
- Scan Tune
- Chaparral's patented Scan Tune feature quickly
locates active satellites and channels. For
satellites with frequently changing transponders,
Channel Scan provides a simple method for
locating and storing new or sporadic channels.
Satellite Scan will quickly locate newly launched
or relocated satellites.
- Date Link
- Allows users to program their receiver using a
computer and keyboard.
